Places to See - Ajloun Forest

Close to the castle is the Ajloun Forest Reserve covering an area of 13 square kilometres. Established in 1988 by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) the Reserve, covered in dense woodlands of pistachio and oak trees, provided the ideal location to initiate a captive-breeding program for the Roe deer.

Accommodation is provided in tented lodges and cabins available between the months of March and November.

Today, visitors can follow many of the hiking trails that wind through the Reserve. Some may be hiked unaccompanied whilst others require a guide (and have a minimum number of participants to operate).
